Hi, hello, how are you all?? I sent out Tinkerscart newletter no.2 yesterday..took me 6 hours to work it out, but I got there!! We have some lovely new chennille at Tinkers Cart and I have finally gotten the chennille quilt..Maisies quilt in pattern form and ready for sale.                                                                                                                  

I have also put a quick quilt together using 10 inch squares and 5 1/2 inch strips and have backed the quilt with chennille, also. The kit for the spotted quilt is $65 for the top only.

Hi, Look what came in the mail today!! Rosalie Quinlans beautiful new book "Gift." It is a beautiful book to look at and the projects are begging to be made. Tinkers cart have kits available for these cushions, from Gift, the kits are $30 each and include a small bottle of Roxannes baste it glue.

Hi to all,  hope you are all enjoying the beautiful winter weather..it is 26 deg today and it is beautiful!! I hope the weather is pleasing to Natalie Ross and Brenda Ryan when they come up in September for our Sun, Sand and Santa Christmas retreat. Numbers are filling up fast, so don't leave it too late or you may be disappointed!1 The cost for the day is $120 and includes morning tea, lunch..with champagne and afternoon tea.

Tinkers Cart have just recieved the full range of Nancy Halvorsens.. 12 Days of Christmas..We have the book for $30.00 and all of the tea towels an buttons and hangers etc. Pleas do check out the new album on the right hand side..Art to Heart tea towels, buttons and hangers..do let me know if there is anything from Art to Heart that you would like and I will do my best to order it for you!! The panel is 13.50 and I also have the Star of Wonder panel and fabric still available..check out the range in the left hand side of the main page.

This is a separate pattern by Nancy Halvorsen..using the 12 Days of Christmas range, it is called "In a Pear Tree' and is a beautiful quilt, 65" x 68." I have kits for the quilt front, including the binding and pattern for $100 plus P&H.

The Days to Santa Countdown Kit is also available, including the holder, the cost is $90.15..this does not include the cost of the book ..a further $30.00.

It really is a lovely range and has really inspired me to "get in to Christmas."

Tinkers Cart now has the Bronwyn Hayes book, Little Chicken feather and Friends in store for $32.95. I have made a little basket from the book and then decided to make The Sucky Puff Quilt, it only takes 588 puffs ! On Sunday night my two daughters traced out circles on fabric and my ever versatile husband, John cut out the circles and I sewed the puffs!!  

This is what 250 puffs look like!! What a great way to use up your scraps.

We have a limited number of kits left over from our retreat, these kits are $32 each.

One last indulgence, some weeks ago I was given the oppertunity to have my photo taken in a vintage military jeep with Cowboys captain and Qld State of Origin no. 7, Jonathon Thurston. A big thanks to Sandra Sellen for organising the jeep, and the photo op!!

This mini quilt is from The Rivendale Collection and the pattern is called Hearts A Bloom. I have used a range from Moda, called Hemming House. The kits are $63 each.

I also have kits for the wall hanging, Sweet Nothings, also from The Rivendale Collection. The kits are $40 each.

Hi, hope everybody is feeling fine and dandy..I know I am!! I spoke to the lovely Rosalie Quinlan this morning, and her new book is due out in two weeks, I am taking preorders on this book, but, I don't have a price yet!!

We had the privilege of hosting this talented lady in March and a couple of the the projects Rosie showed us are featured in the new book, I do have kits for the cushions and will have them for sale at the same time as the book, you must purchase the book to enable you to buy the kit..the kit includes a small bottle of Roxannes basting glue, a favorite of Rosalies.

   The kits are $30 each plus post and the price of the the book will be worth every penny..when it comes out!!

A big hello to everyone who has visited my blog, I have not felt up to writing...my Dad passed away on 02.04.08 in Ireland and I made a lightning visit to Ireland to see him before he died. It has been a time of definitive change in my life and I am happy to say I am back bigger and better than before. A huge thanks goes to my husband John and the irreplaceable Christine, Tinkers cart would have simply ground to a halt if it had not been for them both. I came back to work immediately when I got back and the kindness and considerate actions of my customers has been an enormous help tp me. I also got to have quite a few "fruit tingles" {alchoholic bevvies}with the effervescent Sharon Hawkins from Handmade magazine, when she came up to Townsville to our craft show in April, this was also a blast, and made me smile and indeed there was also some hysterical laughing involved, we took Sharon to see the Cowboys play the Warriors.... Cowboys won ..that night, at least and we made Sharon the flag waver, a job she took too enthusiasically.

At the Tinkers Cart we have lots of new fabrics, Hemming House by Moda, Simplicity by moda and some lovely new basics by Lecien.

Sally Giblin from The Rivendale Collection also has some beautiful new designs, check out her collection in the left hand column,

these patterns are just lovely, I am making the heart throw in the Hemming house colours and will show you when it is finished, it is a simple pattern to follow, as are all of Sallys designs.

The Christmas Retreat, Sun, Sand and Santa, on September 20, 2008, is booking up quickly, we are half booked now, so don't wait too long, or you may miss out!! Our guests will be Brenda Ryan, Natalie Ross and Townsville artist Anne Goodbun, who will be using the new Janome felting machine to make some beautiful gifts, Janome have donated a machine valued at $500 to be raffled on the day.. a non refundable $50 deposit is payable on registration, with the total cost for the day being $120, this includes morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. It also includes a copy of each of the designers exclusive pattern made for our retreat and a starter kit for one of the patterns. I think that will do me for my first post back, I promise to get back in to the swing of things now that I have made a start again, all the best for now, Tracy.

P.S. A big congrats to helen stubbings and her sister Tracey Browning, who are in Portland USA for the quilt show, they picked up awards for their quilts and won best booth, all from three suitcases, good luck to all of the Australian designers there at the moment.
